La muerte de la actriz el pasado 27 de diciembre fue una triste y dolorosa sorpresa. Sus admiradores no han dudado en pedir la coronación de su personaje a Disney para honrar la memoria de la actriz, y ya son más de 30.000 los fans del personaje que han firmado la petición a través del portalchange.org.

La petición de Change.org pide al CEO de Disney, Bob Iger, que reconozca el personaje más popular de Fisher como Princesa de Disney y se una a la alineación oficial de Aurora, Blanca Nieves, Cenicienta, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel y Mérida .

“Después de la trágica pérdida de Carrie Fisher, creemos que lo correcto es que Disney se deshaga de la norma de que una princesa Disney oficial tenga que ser obligatoriamente animada y hacer de Leia una princesa completa. Esta será una manera maravillosa de recordar a Carrie y dar la bienvenida a uno de los nuevos personajes Disney que es adorado por millones de fans”.
