La noticia la dio a conocer Pitbull a través de su cuenta de twitter, el mensaje incluía una imagen de el al lado de la cantante brasileña Claudia Leite:”Una canción une al mundo We are One”.

Más tarde la FIFA confirmó la noticia a través de la misma red social: “#Brasil2014|@pitbull@JLo&@ClaudiaLeitteinterpretarán la canción oficial (‘We Are One’)…”.

“We are one” es la tercera canción de un mundial de fútbol interpretada por latinos, recordemos que el mundial de Sudáfrica de 2010 contó con la participación de la colombiana Shakira y su tema “Waka Waka” y “La Copa de la Vida” de Ricky Martin para el mundial de Francia en 1998.
