El famoso actor, David Prowse, conocido mundialmente por interpretar a Darth Vader en la trilogía original de Star Wars y quien inmortalizara la frase más famosa en la historia del cine: ‘Luke, yo soy tu padre’, murió.

El fallecimiento del actor fue anunciado por su agencia de representación en Twitter y confirmado por diversos medios ingleses.

Prowse puso su cuerpo para interpretar al icónico villano del lado oscuro, Darth Vader, quien fuera protagonista de una de las peleas y frases más famosas en la historia del cine mundial.

Aunque fue este personaje de Star Wars el que lo llevó a la fama, Prowse también era ampliamente conocido en Reino Unido por una campaña para enseñar a los niños a cruzar la calle.

Luego de su participación en la exitosa trilogía, el actor permaneció apartado del cine, pero previamente realizó otros papeles en películas como “La Naranja Mecánica”.
