Ella es Aileen Adaid y cuando tení­a apenas 19 años se graduó de la Escuela de Negocios de La Salle Universityen Manila, de Filipinas. Al egresar tuvo la posibilidad de trabajar en grandes compañí­as, tales como: Nestlé, Unilever o Siemens. Pero ella se decidió por trabajar en Deutsche Bank.

Ella comenzó a realizar  trabajos de diseño web, diseño gráfico, marketing online, entre otros. Y mal no le iba: de hecho, un sólo cliente dobló su anterior sueldo en el banco y fue así­ como ella  tuvo la oportunidad de realizar sus primeros viajes a Francia y Tailandia.

Ya en mayo de 2014,  Adalid decidió emprender en un negocio con una amiga. Entonces puso su tienda en lí­nea a través de Amazon llamada Adalid Gear; en la que ofrecí­a algunos implementos deportivos, de viajes y para el cuidado de la salud”¦. y sí­, le fue fenomenal, lo que le permitió seguir viajando.

For almost all my life, people dictated my life choices for me: the course that I have to take in university, the kind of job that I should apply to, the life progression that I should follow”¦ It was clear I was leading a life for someone else. I wasn”™t living for me “” and that scared me to my very core. Yet, there I was, not with an urge to do anything for I was already programmed to be so. However, when I turned 21, I took a long hard look at the people around me who were undeniably unhappy and I saw myself in them”¦ I saw my future: full of regrets and what ifs. It was terrifying. That”™s when I knew that it was enough. I knew that it was time to do what I always thought was unthinkable: to WALK AWAY, and to follow MY own dreams, wants, and needs. I had a big dream which has always been put in the backseat for years: traveling the world and working for no one but myself “” THIS was what I wanted to accomplish. For sure, I was afraid with just the thought of aspiring for it; but I knew that my fear of a bleak future was far greater than the obstacle before me. I was desperate for change. So I sent in my resignation and pursued my grand ambition. To cut the story short: months later, I made things happen as I built a profitable business and a sustainable travel lifestyle”¦ “I” made it happen “” how empowering it was to say that. It has been 3 years now since I made that change and I have never looked back. I am working less yet earning more while I continue to travel the world in a frenzy. I’m happy and more alive than I ever was. I’m really glad for doing what I did because through my travels & my perseverance, I found love, adventure and freedom”¦ but above all, I found myself “” and you could too. My story is but just one of the many examples that goes to show how we can do SO much if we embrace our fears, take that leap, and soar into the life we always aspired for. We are truly capable of doing anything we can think of! Now, if you ask me “Where to next?”, that”™s an easy question to answer: to anywhere or to anything that breathes life into my very being “” and you should too. Y de pronto, sus ingresos aumentaron y además consiguió una visa de estudiante para irse a vivir a Bélgica. Ya instalada en el paí­s bajo, ella comenzó otro proyecto: se trataba de un blog llamado  I Am Aileen, el cual estaba enfocado a la comunidad de viajeros de todo el mundo. Básicamente, era un blog orientado a entregar tips y relatar sus propias experiencia de viaje. Y adivinen”¦
¡Sí­!, el blog no se demoró nada en ser popular y sigue vigente hasta el dí­a hoy.
